Frequently Asked Questions
Details to help plan your throw pillows quote
How many pillows do I need per piece?+
Two on a sofa, one or two on a loveseat, one on an accent chair, none on ottomans. For a full grouping that is usually five or six. Going heavier looks generous in a showroom and gets in the way at an event, because every pillow a guest has to move to sit down ends up on the floor.
Why rent pillows instead of just renting furniture in the color I want?+
Because the furniture in that exact color may not exist, and because pillows are a fraction of the cost. A white or oatmeal grouping plus six pillows in your palette gets you a room that reads as your colors. Renting six differently-coloured sofas to achieve the same thing is a different order of money, and next year your colors change and the pillows do all the work again.
Which pillow fabrics work outdoors?+
Velvet, chenille and corduroy are fine for a dry evening and should come inside overnight. Faux fur and sequins are the two to think twice about outdoors: fur holds dust and sequins catch on everything. Nothing in this range should sit in irrigation overspray, so tell us if the lounge is going on a lawn that waters at night.
How do I match a brand color with pillows?+
Send the hex value or the Pantone rather than a colour name, and send it before you finalise the furniture. Velvet reads a shade deeper than a flat fabric in the same colour under event lighting, so a velvet that matches on a screen often looks richer in the room, which is usually what you want. We will send photos of the closest stock for your date.
Which pillows suit a southwest or desert theme?+
The cactus sketch, Talavera and Bohemia prints, run against cream boucle and chenille so the pattern has somewhere to sit. This is the combination that photographs as Arizona rather than as generic resort, and it works on both a wedding at a desert venue and a corporate event where out-of-town guests should feel like they went somewhere.
Which pillows suit a wedding?+
Ivory and white velvet, cream boucle, chenille and faux fur, with one accent colour repeated across the room rather than a different palette in every grouping. The cream faux fur is the one planners come back for, because it photographs as texture rather than as a colour and it works with any palette sitting next to it.
Do pillows come ready to use?+
Yes, they arrive ready to place and our crew sets them with the furniture. You do not need to bring anything or assemble anything. If you want them arranged a particular way, tell the crew at delivery rather than after.
Can pillows be used outside a lounge grouping?+
They go on benches, window ledges, built-in banquettes, ceremony seating and daybed setups, and a handful on the floor around a low table is a legitimate arrangement for a desert or bohemian look. Anywhere a hard surface needs to read as comfortable, a pillow does it faster than different furniture.
What happens if a pillow gets marked or goes missing?+
Count them back in at the end of the night. Pillows are the most commonly lost item on a lounge order, because guests carry them off to sit on and they end up on the far side of the venue. Mention anything marked or missing when the order goes back rather than leaving us to find it, and do not try to treat a stain yourself.
Do pillows actually matter in photographs?+
More than their line on the invoice suggests. A bare sofa photographs as a rectangle. The same sofa with two pillows has depth, texture and a colour that ties it to the rest of the room. If your photographer is shooting the lounge area at all, this is the cheapest thing on the order that changes how those photographs look.
