A bar is the gravity of an event. Guests orbit it all night, lines form at it, and conversations start beside it. Where it sits and how many you run matter more than almost any other layout decision, and both are worth settling before you pick a finish.

The planning number is one bartender per 75 to 100 guests, and one bar station per bartender. A 150 person wedding runs two service positions. A 400 person corporate reception needs four or more. Splitting bars across the room shortens lines far better than making one bar longer, because a single long bar still funnels everyone to one place. If a signature cocktail opens the night, give it a dedicated station, since batched drinks move fast and should not compete with the full bar.

The service bar is the working front line. It takes the order, holds ice and the speed rail, and presents a finished face to the room. Glow bars light from within, which changes what the bar does after dark: it becomes a light source and a focal point rather than a piece of furniture. Glow bars need power at the bar location, so flag that when you book.

Bar backs sit behind the service bar holding bottles, glassware and backstock within the bartender's reach. They also close off the space behind a freestanding bar so guests are not looking at crates and bins. Plan one bar back per service bar. If the bar is against a wall or a backdrop you can usually skip it.

For brand activations, product launches and corporate parties, the bar front is the most photographed surface at the event. We produce custom branded fronts and back bar elements from client artwork. Branded work needs real production lead time, so send logo files and the event date as early as you can. This is not a last week decision.

Placement decides whether the bar works. Keep it visible from the entrance so guests find it without hunting, but not in the doorway where the line blocks arrivals. Set it within sight of the dance floor so people drift between the two instead of choosing one. Leave working room behind the bar for staff and backstock, and give the front a clear approach on at least two sides. On patios and lawns, tell us the surface so we can plan leveling.
